B.Grimm Power Launches COD for 20 Megawatt Solar Power Plant in Japan, Expanding Renewable Energy Portfolio Towards Net-Zero Goals
Dr. Harald Link, CEO of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited, announced that Lohas ECE Spain Gifu Co., Ltd., located in Japan and 49% owned by B.Grimm Power Korea Limited, has successfully commenced commercial operations (COD) of its ground-mounted solar power plant with a total installed capacity of 20 megawatts as of September 5, 2023.
The project is situated in Kamanoya, Arahara, Kamitakara-cho, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, and operates under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Kansai Transmission and Distribution for 20 megawatts over a period of 17 years, with a feed-in tariff (FIT) rate of 21 yen per kilowatt-hour.
The successful COD of this ground-mounted solar power project aligns with B.Grimm Power's goal to continuously expand its investment portfolio in renewable energy projects across Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. The company aims to seek investment opportunities in countries supported by government policies to achieve its goal of becoming a leading global energy company, in line with its GreenLeap-Global and Green strategy, while enhancing global business collaboration with partners both domestically and internationally, in accordance with the organization's vision of "Empowering the World Compassionately."
As for B.Grimm Power's direction and goals by 2030, the company aims to expand its investment to achieve a total of 10,000 megawatts in power purchase agreements from operational and under-construction projects, with more than 50% coming from renewable energy sources. The goal is to become a net-zero carbon emissions organization by 2050.
